Keloid and Keloid Scar Remedies: Q&A

NEED RELIEF FROM KELOIDS
11/25/2012: Ncbeautiful from Greensboro, North Carolina: "I have keloids all over my body. They are very annoying as they itch like crazy. I have been putting hand sanitizer on them and it seems to help soothe the itch. Anyway, I write to you because I research keloids everyday. I have given up on medical doors because they want to treat the symptom and not cure the condition. I have had surgerys and injections to only have them Come back bigger an more aggressive. I currently have a keloid in the crease of my neck which is about 8cm long and 1 inch wide. It really hurts. I am at a lost because I don't know what to do. I have researched cryotherapy. any suggestions...... I have also read that zinc is good for healing wounds from the inside out.... please help."

11/26/2012: Art from Tustin, Ca. Usa replies: "nc, you might consider having a vitamin D test (25 OH D test) to see if you are within the reference range of 30 to 100ng/ml. There is fairly recent evidence to suggest that vitamin d may be of benefit in the battle against keloids. Adequate vitamin d levels are anti-inflammatory and also allow production of the antimicrobial peptide, cathelicidin, which can help fight infections of the skin among other things. Here is a fairly recent article and abstract discussing vitamin d and its potential role with keloids:
If you happen to have darker skin, your vitamin d production by your skin is likely to be reduced compared to lighter skinned individuals or if you do not get much full body summer sun, your vitamin d levels are also likely to be insufficient, especially as winter approaches.
If you notice any improvement in symptoms when you get lengthy summer sun exposure, it might be worth giving vitamin d consideration, especially when you consider all of the potential health benefits of having a vitamin d level well within the reference range. 07/23/2012: Kumar from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh: "Hi Mr TED, While reading comments, I feel like sharing my experience. I have many keloidal scars on my chest, started about 16 yrs back in the form of small acne. These grown up with the time now to join to form a lump of measuring 4.5 inches to 4 inches. Its painful itching, and pus and bleeding is usual. There are now several keloids all over back, shoulders and stomack now. It appears to have contribted to constipation and upper back pain probably. Seriously troubled, what to do, pls reply"

03/17/2013: Teegurl from Bangalore, India replies: "Please do not even attempt using agnijith, I have used it for six months with no significant improvement. It made my keloids bigger, hard and painful, in fact the balm is a suicide mission if you have extensive keloids like mine. It's so uncomfortable, painful and peppery, I don't know the type of chemical used in preparing it, but its a no- no."
10/15/2012: Tsan1984 from Houston, Texas, Usa replies: "Have you tried Kennacort injections? I had a similar issue and have around 30 keloids all around my shoulder, injections helped. Use Triocaine (topical Anesthetic) to mitigate pain from injections. Have you also checked Agnijith, manufactured in Kerala to treat Keloids? Topical MSM and internal injestion on MSM will surely help. Thanks!"

CAN I REMOVE MY KELOID SCAR AND WILL IT BE PERMANENT?
03/25/2012: Claries from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia: "Hello. I have a keloid on my left shoulder. Very itchy at a certain time. Can it be removed? or if I remove it by doing surgery, will it grow again? will the itchiness come back again? I have met 2 doctors, both of them said that my keloid cannot be removed if it's itchy, probably will grow bigger than the original. but I don't believe them, I didn't give up, searched for solution since I was 15/16. now im 20. Last 2 weeks I found a page about keloid prevention. I start thinking that if I remove it, and prevent from eating seafoods, eggs, use silicone sheet during its healing process, the keloid won't grow. Is it true? I need help. Because I have appointment with plastic surgeon on 25th of april. If you have any advice or any ways to prevent keloid, kindly just tell me. Thank you. I appreciate your help. :)"

04/08/2013: Simply Simple from Detroit, Michigan replies: "Look I'm not even sure if mine is considered keloid, may even be a large hypertrophic on my chest. But it does itch and sting sometimes, definitely it itches. But I've done a surgery to remove it but my second surgery was the best I think. It is a lil larger (from cutting out the original) but the healing was much better. I thought I may had won. Now it sometimes is visible through my shirt. A lil over one inch maybe, and a half inch. Maybe raised a half cm at times. But I have hope almost been one year post op and its not great but it's better. They key to healing in my opinion from experience is pre op eat raw foods. I'm serious I have done a juice fast for five days and saw temporary results on my post op scar. But keep eating well as long as you can forever. The more the better. But do it before to get your body into good shape.
Then do surgery, no cautery (something I regret I didn't do). Have him put a wound closing tape then a bioclusive tape pad over it. It looks like scar away pads but clear. Quite nice, stats on for about a week and can shower with it. They remove ditches then tape then bioclusive. I did it for three months. I wish I did longer started to get worse and raised. Not bad but regression in my opinion. But I would keep a bioclusive on for a year if I really wanted to be sure. I'm just would do Anything. But I have used scar away and thought it worked well. Probably one of the best. It came back but I'm using again and it seems to be doin stuff, possible massage with it on? Scarprin seemed to work then suck. Some of the best results I have seen were from the juice fast and I'm going to do a 2 week one. Nutrition is key. Taping is key (the longer the better). And I may try lugols iodine solution. See how that goes. Good luck. Remember be positive."
06/17/2012: Mjk from Milwaukee, WI replies: "NO DO NOT DO IT!
I did the removal with a plastic surgeon who made the most "selling" promise ever to me.... And I was told to get radiation treatment after the surgery- for 3 times for it BUT GUESS WHAT--it made it worse. The original size was like a quarter size THEN after the surgery and radiation the scar became the size of half my palm.... The dr never cared to see me and couldn't do anything after a couple of months! I know he felt stupid for selling me the idea about "removing my scar on my shoulder" I was 18 at that time and was naive and believed every word of it!!!"
11/09/2012: Npdizzz from Melbourne, Australia replies: "No please do not try it before asking a second or even a third opinion from another dermatologist or surgeon. I had a 0.5 inch keloid on my shoulder. It irritated and was painful. I tried laser removal which didn't help and it grew back. Then tried cutting it away, which didn't help and made it uglier. Then plastic surgery which caused it to be worse than ever. The thing is now 4 times bigger than it was before and irritates, burns and itches. This all happened over a period of 12 years and it didn't help me at all. Am now going to try the ACV treatment. Good luck, I hope it works out for you."

WHAT TO TRY FOR LONG STANDING KELOID?
03/05/2012: Irogbeauty from London, Uk: "I am very pleased to find your website. Great help for us. What does DMSO stands for? I really want to get rid of my keloid that I had for ages. I tried the lavender, tea tree oil mixed in equal amount plus Vit. E oil. Thank you very much."

10/15/2012: Tsan1984 from Houston, Texas, Usa replies: "How big is the keloid and how many do you have? Have you tried Kennacort injections?

WHAT WOULD BE BEST TO RID KELOID SCAR?
02/14/2012: Jeff from Toronto, On, Canada: "Hi Ted I have an acne scar/keloid now that developed accross my chest and would like to know what is the best treatment for it. I don't know if it is viral, bacterial or fungal in nature but I have been using a few products to get rid of it and I'm not sure if they are working or not. I starting using the black keloid paste at night and rubbing iodine on it in the day. ACV didn't seem to do anything to it, but after reading the site I'm wondering if Hydrogen peroxide(3 %) Baking soda will cure it. Please reply back and let me know what you think is the best way to treat this scar. I've also attached a pic for you to see it."

WOULD BLACK KELOID PASTE HELP A GROWING KELOID?
09/25/2010: A. from NYC, NY: "Mr. ted

I need your help. I had 8 keloid operations, seeing a doctor very soon again.....very severe and painful pus infection in April....... Have you heard about black keloid paste? I'm planning to purchase dmso and potassium iodine today .....

I've tried baking soda, food grade h2o2, tea tree oil......steroid laser skin graft - no result.. Keloid is still growing"

09/26/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The keloid you have appears to extensive and in my opinion surgery won't work. Because of it's extensive keloid, it appears that the cause is from toxin in the food from mostly canned or frozen foods, too much meats, sugar, too much sweet fruits and vegetable oil foods. This is evidenced from the pus in the photos. The body's lymphatic systems appears clogged and hence the pus. Therefore, the body needs to clear itself for at least a month of vegetarian diets, fruits that are not sweet, such as apples and guava, and sometimes pears. No vegetable cooking oils are used, bowel movements must be two times a day. This should clear the lymphatic systems. A digestive enzyme is taken 6 times a day, three times with meals, and three times on empty stomach. Potassium supplements' preferably potassium citrate, but if none are found any potassium will do, at 1/4 teaspoon after meal three times a day. The potassium should reduce the constipation if not, more maybe taken to help reduced swelling. For healing, aloe vera oil is taken at 1/2 teaspoon a day internally, perhaps some aloe vera is applied on the skin. Detoxification is at least needed before a black keloid, surgery or other procedures are performed. Some improvement is expected in about a month. It's most important to avoid sugar, fructose, milk and cooked meats, or at least reduce down to about 5% of the food, and mostly is vegetarian. Some weight loss is expected legumes and beans should be used as protein source as they don't get denatured as you do in cooking of most meats. Most Chinese remedies, but locally however the body needs a major detox before considering any topical application. A lugol's may help in the area as topical treatment, with aloe vera is what I will concentrate on. The body can also be detox by applying the entire body with a solution of bentonite clays on the skin. For example, 1 teaspoon of bentonite clay per 1 liter of water well dissolved and applied to the skin, and blow them dry. Then it is rinsed. This is repeated three times and done about once or twice a day for about a week. Improvement should be noticed on second or third week, of changing diets, potassium and bentonite clay to suck out the toxins. Digestive enzymes should clear some of the lymphatic blockages. Once this basic detox is started then I might consider other procedures. The problem of this keloid is too extensive to consider local surgery or topical application alone.

Ted"
09/26/2010: A. replies: "Wow thanks for your advice.

current activities:

breakfast oatmeal no milk jamaican bread.

lunch/dinner frozen beef pattie....sometimes rice and peas with oxtail gravy

water or sometimes 100% fruit juice
I drink alot of teas ( detox tea, china (gun powder ) green tea)
multivitamins, fish oil, glycoplex from genceutic lab, cod liver oil black seed pure oil

my sisters have keloid too

Thanks Ted"
09/30/2010: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "When detoxing to remove keloids, which in my definition is due to an immune disorder due to toxic proteins, a liver congestion, as a result of high oil. Basically to detox, no sugar, no oils, and no meat proteins as they are very difficult to digest. Vegetarian diets, vitamin C no calcium, some rice, some amino acid supplements, and no fruits, except for green apples. Fish oils, cod liver oil, and any oils tend to obstruct liver, as they accumulate and are subjected to rancidity inside the body. The only oil and that's after healing on oil free diet that doesn't harm the liver is the coconut oil. Any coconut oil will do, never any partially hydrogenated or hydrogneated vegetable oils. Oatmeals are fine, fishes can be eaten later, boiled soup is ok, rye bread, and rice generally don't cause problem. Lugol's solution 1-2 drops before bed time and some baking soda and potassium bicarbonate in equal portion, such as 1/2 teaspoon of each will alkalize and get the sodium/potassium balance back. It is most important to get more then the normal bowel movement such as three times a day, such as taking 30 drops of magnesium chloride solution 60-70%) concentration three times a day. Sometimes applying a ot water bag at 42 degrees celsius to the keloid area may help. The swelling of keloid maybe due to low salt diet and low potassium diet. There is no way for me to know, but what I do know is after taking a laxative of magnesium chloride, the pus will stop for sure. And if done frequently enough this might reduce the keloid swelling. I had one case of a cancer person with keloid growth on his lower back near the kidney area. The keloid just fell off. What happened was he had a adrenocarcinoma, kidney cancer and bladder cancer. The supplements taken was to deal with that was to take lysine 1/2 teaspoon, theronine 1/4 teaspoon, glutamine 1 teaspoon, and a small amount of citrulline at only 1/16 teaspoon taken four times a day, plus some 1/4 teaspoon of green tea extract or tannic acid, with sorbitol to help laxative effect from constipation causing green tea or tannic acid twice a day in a cup of water. In about a week, the unexpected benefit was the keloid fell off and the skin no longer had any growth. They grow because too much sugar (especially fructose), undigested protein (especially cooked meats), and oil causing liver congestion (especially fish oil, vegetable oils and sesame seed oil). Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated oils is causing most of the problem in cellular deterioration, as they form free radicals in the mitochondrial, causing abnormal growth. This may also happen from chemically induced, if a person happens to work for chemical factory, live near chemical sewage (neighbors will have similar sickness), for example.

KELOID REMOVAL AND FOOD RECIPE SUGGESTIONS?
06/21/2010: Jen from Rockford, Il: "Hello Ted from Bangkok, I wanted to know. What kind of recipes do you have for a woman who wants her keloid growth to stop on her ear. And who eats lots of sugary foods. I am almost addicted to all of the things I'm not supposed to eat. I have found that when I drink beer, the keloid grows. I have been to a surgen to get the keloid removed. Are there any suggestions on diet, supplements, and a daily regimen to use to start off.. from detoxing from these many bad habbits.

Jen"

07/25/2010: Olatunji from Abuja, Nigeria replies: "I don't really tried anything except using aloe vera but it is not working as expected. Â Please I need a quick solution to my Keloid. Please I need the formula for the 50 50 by ted and the tea tree oil also that of the apple cider ginger. I will be very gratefull if some one reply as quick as possible"
10/25/2011: Amanda from Columbus, Ohio replies: "My husband has been using vitamin e oil on his chest and shoulder keloids and has seen some improvement thus far. There are many natural remedies you can try for keloids. We found a site that lists some of the natural home remedies for treating keloid scars.

KELOID REMOVAL SURGERY: TED'S ADVICE NEEDED
04/01/2009: Tammy from NYC, NY: "Hi Ted,

I just had keloid removal surgery, so far I have followed quite a bit of advice from here. I have a history of poor wound healing but I was confident that I could prevent reoocurrence without the use of radiation after surgery.

Things I did/doing

Actually my incision completely closed after 5 days which is amazing as I have taken months to heal a simple wound!!!
bromelain (for inflammation)
vitamin b17 (wasn't easy to find)
Organic MSM
Oil of oregano for infection (didnt get one! Amazing!)
half glass of water with Baking soda
ate no garlic, onion, tomatoes, sour foods, sweet foods etc.
Took vitamin C and also Zinc

right now I am massaging the hard areas of scar tissue as they the keloid dug deep into my flesh. I am using DMSO mixed with vitamin c and Helichrysum italicum and the areas are actually smoothing out.

Well so far so good, I know it will take a while to see if they do come back or not, but for some reason, I dont believe they will. I will continue this regimen for another 10 weeks or so but will continue to massage in dmso.. can you tell me.. is this enough time to go back to eating the above mentioned foods? Also, can you please comment on my regimen?"

05/25/2009: Tammy from NYC, NY replies: "Update... so far so good. I strictly followed this for about 8 weeks, after that I added some of these foods back in and immediately I noticed I got severe itching.. i also noticed that when I had wine as well.. I was on holiday and forgot my dmso and sski and surprisingly the scar spread a little wider which was very alarming.. once I got back and started it again.. the itching went away and the hardness that was starting to form softened out.. it was amazing.. I do notice that if I go a few days without applying, the keloid wants to form again! But after being vigilant with sski and dmso, I have noticed that pigment is starting to return and there is no scar tissue.. I guess I will have to do this a while until the scar truly heals as it is still tender to touch.."

RIGHT AND LEFT SHOULDERS, FUNGUS OR KELOIDS?
05/12/2008: Y : "Dear Ted, I am sorry to keep writing you like this but I find you really know about skin conditions and since you are an expert, maybe you might be the only one in 10 years who was able to help my case. I have sent you the pictures of my left and right shoulders they are HORRIBLE. I am ashamed that I have to show this to you but you mentioned it sounded like a fungus infection and maybe you have seen already something similar to what I am sending in these pictures. I hve been to dermatologists and doctors all over Montreal, Canada and they either don't know what it is or they say they are Keloids. What is your opinion? Thank you so much for putting up with all my e-mails! :-)"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "I am very pleased you sent me the pictures! The pictures you do sent me appears not to be keloids, but a viral in nature. Virus and certain bacteria, grows in a familiar magnetic or energy flow patterns, and do not become "keloids". Topical application of zinc chloride 2% solution with 5% magnesium chloride might have help as it is strongly antiviral. Once the viral is up, eliminating them is slow and gradual, but most improvement may noticed in a couple of days. It should be noted that supplements of zinc gluconate 50 mg are needed per day, plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda 3 times a day in 1/2 glass of water and 500 mg of magnesium gluconate is at least needed. Those are the basis, and please keep me informed, even though my email is overloaded.
P.S. Your photos of keloids are quite bad, which is an understatement and I believe very strongly they need attention. The horizontal patterns on the keloids obviously indicates it's a pathogen form of keloids, quite possibly viral. It should be noted that when I grow bacteria and viruses the form certain patterns so they can grow easily along the energy path. This just doesn't happen in the thin air and scars don't form for no reason. It's viral in nature or at the very least a bacteria in nature and the mentioned remedy is one place to start. Looking forward to your feedback. It needs special attention."

EXTREME CASE OF KELOIDS
05/01/2008: MM : "I just wanted to thank you so much for your suggestions and I will go to the natural food store tomorrow to pick up these vitamins and ingredients you mentioned. I just wonder why you chose the baking soda for me to drink rather than the apple cider vinegar? Is there a difference in the effects of the two? And should I continue using the 3% peroxide with baking soda masque? I have been using it for 3 days now, the first day it was extremely itchy and then more tolerable the next time. Also I was looking at the keloids and I noticed they are all dubbles like conjoined twin keloids! Many years ago I had cortizone injections and I noticed that instead of this treatment helping me it made everything worse! At the sight where the injection was put in it is as if the keloids began to split in half but just became 2 keloids instread of one!!! I was really upset about this result!!! Is that strange or what?
Thank you again for taking the time to respond to me I really do appreciate it, I pray some of your remedies will help me conquer these ugly horrible scars."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "An emergency remedy to stop a terrible itch, which quite often is a fungus, is TOPICAL solution using the baking soda mixed with ammonium chloride solution (or ammonium bicarbonate). The solution can be quite weak, such as in a glass of water 1 tablespoon of baking soda, plus 1/2 teaspoon of ammonium chloride, or preferably ammonium bicarbonate. Much of the itching are quite often reduced rather quickly if sufficient baking soda are taken, although that's never the best solution, but the reason is many simple chemicals aren't easy to find.
In alkalizing drinks is by taking 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda is the simplest possible method of alkalizing in 1/2 glass of water taken at least twice a day. A more better one is to alkalize both extracellular and intracellular fluids, which is 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/8 teaspoon of potassium bicarbonate in 1/2 glass of water taken twice a day. However pro allergic foods should generally be avoided.
It should be noted that my personal findings are that citrate, acetates, and malates, as an input to the Krebs cycle which more or less amounts to apple cider vinegar are in general acid forming mostly to the intracellular fluids, while the organic components and minerals are alkaline forming.
'It should also be noted that halogens in general, such as chlorides, fluorides, bromides, etc. are acid forming too. Doctors don't pay much attention to the surnames of chemicals like I do because it has an effect on metabolic acidosis too. Usually in the short term, apple cider vinegar reduces irritation and inflammation. But if I have to take any alkalizing remedy in the long term it would have to be sodium bicarbonate and potassium bicarbonate, plus some ocassional magnesium. An perhaps once a week or twice a week weak sea salt water such as 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt in one liter of drinking water. Fungus in the long run can also be reduced with a borax solution applied to the skin too, which is a mild remedy to get rid of the itchiness.
Another possibility that i used also is the ammonium chloride solution mixed with milk of magnesia, such as 1/2 teaspoon of ammonium chloride plus 1 tablespoon of milk of magnesia in one glass of water, to be applied to the skin to stop the itching.
In general, alkalizing the body is a more effective way to prevent recurrence, but an external application I might consider whenever the itching is frequent, so a faster solution is called for. Hence, either baking soda alone , or baking soda and potassium bicarbonate are the best in the long run. I should know, the fungus count in my home is high, but an often unrecognized issue and sometimes people assume it's just eczema or allergy when in fact it might be an enviromental problem combined with the body's frequent metabolic acidosis, primarily wheat, white flour and bread. Even whole wheat is a problem.
It should be mentioned here that folk medicine in U.S. have no idea about the successes of Eastern medicine, such as Tibetan medicine or Chinese medicine. In those paradigm, and I don't use it, but their findings agreed with my own observation in that people should avoid sour and sweet foods in general, wheat, potatoes, high calcium foods, honey, and fruits whenever inflammation occurs. In my own understanding, these inflammation are primarily acid forming either to extracellularly or intracellularly or both. Much of the Western problems of disease are almost unknown in Eastern medicine because the foods eaten in western cultures are mostly pro-inflammatory foods, whether they be vegetable oils, sour foods and sweets, often resulting in metabolic acidosis. The most dangerous of all foods used is the adding of aspartame, which causes extreme metabolic acidosis, leading to ever worsening skin problems. Therefore, your mentioned of itching may appear to be of fungus like
component. Bacteria itches too, but not as badly as a fungus problem and hence a simple baking soda, or a better baking soda and potassium bicarbonate, is preferred, if of course you can somehow find it from a local chemical supplier or a drug store."
11/21/2011: Amanda from Columbus, Ohio replies: "I have found that vitamin e oil is very good for relieving the itchiness of keloids. Vitamin E oil acts as a moisturizer thus softening the keloids, soothing them and relieving the itchiness.

EXTREME CASE OF KELOIDS
04/30/2008: MM : "Dear Ted, I have read your suggestions for keloid treatment and it makes so much sense to me about drinking the apple cider vinegar or the sea salt to get the body alkaline to treat the keloid from the inside. A homeopath once told me that my keloids were not healing because I had too much acidity inside my system. She said we usually don't see the damage all the junk we eat is doing to our body but lucky for me it shows up on my skin and maybe I can do something about it before it makes me really sick. The only thing is I took all the remedies she gave me with no results, possibly because I hadn't changed my diet....I don't remember what they were as this was about 5 years ago. My case is quite extreme: I had back acne starting at 11 years old and by 14 keloids began to form much bigger than the pimples. Now I am 24 years old and I have these huge horrible keloids just on the left and right sides of my upper back (about 20-24 keloids in total) They are still bright red, inflamed and itchy. (I find they itch more lately since I did a 1 day fasting drinking 1L of water with 1/4 tsp sea salt and a few drops of lemon juice throughout the day). Please can you suggest the best detox or mask for my case I am desperate these keloids have caused me serious psychological distress. I love swimming but I have not been to the pool in over 10 years because they are so horrible. I even went to the Dominican Republic with my husband and stood on the beach staring at the sea and I did not swim once. (I know I am being vain, I shouldn't care what people think but they' really look like some kind of disease its awful.) I also cannot wear tank tops in the summer or very short sleeves because there are some small keloids on my shoulders too. (I also have one on my chest!) It's a keloid INFESTATION! Please help? Please if you would get back to me I would be eternally grateful. Thank you."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Keloids could be a number of causes, but namely it is the inflammation. The dietary changes is needed to increase immunity and help with the healing. The basic food lists to avoid that is very important are wheat, sugar, aspartame, fluoride, fruit juices, alcohol, tomatoes, onions, garlic, peanut butter, yeast products, dairy products, cheese, and caffeine.
The single most important food that needs to be avoided is the wheat, white bread, white flour and aspartame as they are the most acid forming food that I can identify. Besides the fact that wheat promotes candida growth in humans, and fungus growth, it also has gluten and many people are intolerant, leading to inflammation of the skin.
One major reason why Asians don't get sick is that Asians eat rice and Western Culture, and only RECENTLY started eating wheat. U.S. made a switchover from millet and wheat more than 50 years ago and the health problems pretty much goes down the drain and this is much of the problems with inflammation. It is actually more healthy eating the traditional staple of millet, so much about the Green Revolution. Millet is an alkaline forming foods and has vitamin B17, which is anti-cancer, but also increases the body's immunity and reduced skin problems through reduction in inflammation.
When the skin is inflammed and immune systems are down, the body tries to put the dust in the rug rather than removing it due to weak immunity.
In the morning, a whey protein once or twice in the morning, early dinner. This will enable quick healing if the skin. If the skin heals quickly, keloids don't form. But scarring is also the lack of vitamin E, and 200 i.u. a day may help. Most important is that vitamin C sodium ascorbate 1000 mg is taken once a day to help faster healing, while vitamin E will reduce scarring, and whey protein to increase the speed of healing.
Some ocassional zinc gluconate 50 mg, twice a week may be needed, and some granulate lecithin may help nerve transmission in responding to healing.' Most importantly, it will be the baking soda that helps most of the healing, so avoiding lemon or sour food at least for now I think will be more helpful to me.
The baking soda is taken at 1/2 teaspoon in 1/2 glass of water at least twice a day, once in the morning and once before bedtime. It takes about 3 weeks to a month to notice improve skin.
The other problem about skin complexion is the problematic fried foods and the use of hydrogenated vegetable oils and vegetable oils in general. Once or twice a week evening primrose oils 500-1000 mg and also fish oil will help raise the omega 3 and reduce scarring as fish oils are known for that and at least in one cases I found reduce keloids with fish oils supplements. Fish oils interestingly can be taken more frequently than the primrose oil and can be taken once every other day should be sufficient to promote normal healing and reduce scarring.
This is mostly preventive to prevent newer keloids form forming, but the old ones will generally be reduced rather slowly since it has formed a long time ago."
10/25/2011: Amanda from Columbus, Ohio replies: "My husband has multiple keloid scars on his shoulders and chest. He is currently using a vitamin e regimine and they have noticeably softened and lightened in color. There are many natural methods that we have found for treating keloid scars and will perhaps be trying some others in time. Here is a site we found with other methods for treating keloid scars.

PRE-KELOID BUMP REMEDIES?
08/09/2007: Justin : "I also have some bumps on the back of my neck that are starting to rise up and resemble keloids. I have a co-worker who said she has something similar, and she had 2 have surgery 2 stretch her skin so the keyloid wouldn't apprear so large, and she has 2 wipe it down twice a day with alcohol and clean it with neosporin. do you have any recommendations to causing them to go down?"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "The bumps indicate the body's level of antioxidants being low which is why it forms a keloids, that and the fact that the hair curls back to the skin causes the body to react negatively by attacking it, but often because the skin infects easily. That said, a topical mixture of natural vitamin E mixed with tea tree oil and perhaps some lavender oils and perhaps a small amount of aloe vera oil mixed should help the bumps.
The tea tree oil (terpinoids factions) kills the invading infection, lavender oil is anti inflammatory in nature, the vitamin E prevents formation of keloids by preventing the body's oil to harden, and the aloe vera oil accelerates the healing from the allantoin content.
A simpler remedy than that is just the lavender oil mixed in equal portions with natural vitamin E, as a natural vitamin E is a more powerful one than the use of tocopheryl acetate or other synthetic forms of vitamin E.
Topical application merely covers up the other condition of the body's low level of alkalinity, antioxidants (from vitamin E, carotenoids, an certain antioxidant minerals such as zinc, manganese, copper, molybdenum). Supplements of at least vitamin E 400 i.u. plus a natural vitamin A may help plus some zinc gluconate at the very least.
The topical application of just plain distilled vinegar to the area may also relieve some itching, if the keloids razor bumps are causing the problems of inflammation or itching.
The lemon and baking soda (sodium bicarbonate, NOT BAKING POWDER!) will help reduce calcification encourage circulation and reduce some razor bumps, the dose for that is usually one whole lime (8 teaspoon) plus 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water taken only 4 or 5 days out a week."

ANY SUGGESTION FOR KELOID ON TONGUE
10/17/2006: Melissa from Toronto: "Well this is about a keloid on the tongue, I have tried using crushed asparin to get rid of it but it just doesn't seem to help, is there anything you else you suggest I use?"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Melissa: This is one area where I have to say conventional medicine might do better. Usually the use of lasers to remove scar tissues, and keloid might eliminate quite quickly if alternative medicine do not work. Scars tissues are deep wounds and I think a more mechanical approach to such as laser in a dermatology clinic would work. Of course the price can be considerable."

IS THERE ANY REMEDY FOR KELOID SCAR ON EAR
09/21/2006: jennifer from Stockton, CA: "Hello My 16 year old son had reconstructive ear surgery 3 years ago about 6 months later he developed a very large Keloid scar that will not go away. He has been taken to a famous HMO here which they have been injecting steroids into the keloid to keep it minimal. Now after 3 years they decide to cut it out. I feel uncomfortable with them taking it out due to the high possibility it will come back. Is there anything you recommend? thank you."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear Jennifer: Most keloid scars are a body's reaction to a viral infection/nanobac under the skin as a result of unsanitary conditions during surgery. Without going into the mistakes they make using the wrong kind of antiseptic, let us just focus on the treatment.
Buy 100% lavender oil and 100% tea tree oil mixed at 50 - 50 ratio and apply on the keloid scar. It should noticeably reduce within a couple of hours.
Of course, while you wait finding those aromatherapy oils, sometimes I find it extremely useful to reach for pure vinegar first. Apply vinegar every 20 - 30 minutes for about at least 5 application. You should notice a reduction in keloid scar, within a couple of hours. If not then just try lavender and tea tree oil.
If the above does not work, it means the keloid scars are fungus in nature that are somewhat resistant to the acid treatment, then a strong alkaline, such as potassium carbonate solution maybe 20-30% might be helpful, but you should mix this with possibly a some 3% hydrogen peroxide solution at 50% of the mix.
I could explain more difficult formulations using copper chloride solution, but you will end up having too much trouble as it is finding the needed supplies.
During treatment he should take plenty of vitamin C and if you can get fulvic acid, to be taken internally and applied to skin, should also help.
The skin reaction is also made worse whenever he has a zinc deficiency, in which case supplementation of zinc acetate, zinc gluconate or zinc citrate is the preferred form. I am doubtful they have zinc chloride but this is acceptable also. Do not use other kinds of zinc. The preferred dose is about 50 mg. Taking some manganese sulfate may complement his healing as well as taking oatmeal daily or twice daily on an empty stomach should help with healing. If the suggestion is right most keloid should disapper in a matter of a month or so, but you should see improvements within an hour or a couple of hours. If not, then you must have to switch to other forms of treatment.
Most of the suggestions here should apply for a majority of keloids. This is just my opinion, of course. "

WHAT CAN BE USED TO FADE SCAR AFTER SURGERY
Joyce : "What can be used to fade scars after surgery"

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Joyce: There are many ways to dissolve the old scar tissue. You can try to dissolve some aspirin with water and apply on the skin. Aspirin is acetyl salicylic acid, which is similar, but a weaker form of salicylic acid that dermatologist used to remove old scar tissue. For me I have some black spots on my arm and I removed by applying a 50% water and 50% DMSO solution applied daily over a month. While the application over such brief period I that I did only remove about 80% of the spots, it was significantly smaller than usual. As a result, I was happy with it and didn't bother to continue. The DMSO goes right through the skin and slowly removes the old keloids. I learned that it can do this by observing injured animals with scar used DMSO solution also, but probably of a higher concentration.
Vinegar is also another good one, but a much milder form basically it removes hard skins cells but it does this much slowly."

  1. Hi,

My question is about a a natural treatment that I faithfully followed for 10 days. I soaked a cotton ball of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar, and taped onto my keloid over night. The keyloid and the surrounding area (size of cotton ball) is filled with puss. I continued with the treatment because some people on Earth Clinic said pus was normal. However, today, part of the puss scab came off, and revealed what looks to be deep and curently infected! Now, I'm absolutely afraid to continue with the treatment and at a loss. What do I do?

With that said, a quick background is that I have about a hundred or so tiny white bumps on my back since I was 15 (now 30). I were told they are a type of scarring that cannot be treated, sort of like mini keloids. As well as, some acne and facial scarring. Please, help me!

I have cut wheat, sugar, dairy, and eat some animal protein. I chase a clean, organic lifestyle, without chemicals, irritants, and medication. Lastly, I practice Urine Therapy which has helped significantly with digestion. Yet, my skin reacts over the slightest thing. The keloid reaction with the ACV is upsetting.

  5. Keloids are normally a scar that has become prominent because of the abnormal growth of sinewy tissues. Keloids scars can't be entirely removed once they are shaped; much should be possible at home to start with stage. They could be delicate and irritated at the onset and this is the time when Keloids Natural Treatment actually works on them.

  6. I have six keloids on my chest and one on my right hand bicep .
I’m 25 years old and belong from India
I’ve had a knee surgery when I was 21 and later on keloids started appearing on my chest.
I’ve tried apple cider vinegar and baking soda with hydrogen peroxide which didn’t work. Later I’ve tried injections with laser treatment which caused the keloid on my bicep to grow.
I’ve given up on my hopes to lose them .
Could you please suggest me on how to avoid new keloid formations and also halt growth of the existing ones.

  7. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
